Job summary

Discovery Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced HCAInstructor to teach Onsite Lab and Clinical at Vernon, BC. This part-time role offers the opportunity to mentor and shape the next generation of nursing professionals through engaging instruction.

Start date: December 9, 2026. Rate ranges: $34–$45 for LPN and $40–$60 for RN, depending on years of experience and levels of care. Schedule for labs: Monday to Friday (8:30am to 5:00pm), current instruction hours subject to change.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2,800 hours of nursing experience, including maternity, mental health, or acute care.
• Current full registration with BCCNM as LPN, RN, or RDPN is required.
• Instructor experience is an asset.
• Experience with Office 365 and SIS is an asset.
• Strong communication and mentorship skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
• Commitment to fostering a positive educational experience.
• Ability to travel to local sites within the region.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction in laboratory and clinical settings.
• Implement and evaluate lesson plans using the HCA curriculum.
• Demonstrate, supervise, and evaluate practical healthcare skills.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Ensure safe clinical practice and adherence to standards.
• Collaborate with coordinators, facility staff, and instructors.
• Maintain current knowledge of healthcare practices relevant to HCA education.
