Job summary

Discovery Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced HCAInstructor to teach Onsite Lab and Clinical Sites at Gateway Lodge in the Fraser-Fort George region. This part-time role offers mentorship and the chance to shape the next generation of nursing professionals through engaging instruction.

The position starts November 02, 2026, with a schedule Monday to Friday, 6:45am to 3:15pm for clinicals. Rate ranges: LPN CAD34-45, RN CAD40-60, reflecting experience and levels of care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2,800 hours of nursing experience, inclusive of maternity, mental health or acute care.
• Current full registration with the BCCNM as an LPN, RN, or RDPN is required.
• Previous instructor experience is an asset.
• Experience with Office 365 and SIS is an asset.
• Ability to travel to local sites within the region.

Rate Range: $34- $45 for LPN (based on years of experience and levels of care) $40-$60 for RN (based on years of experience and levels of care)

Schedule for Clinicals at Gateway Lodge: Monday to Friday ( 6:45am to 3:15pm)

Key Responsibilities:

• Current full registration with the BCCNM as an LPN, RN, or RDPN – required.
• Previous instructor experience is an asset.
• Experience with Office 365 and Student Information Systems (SIS) is an asset.
• Strong communication and mentorship skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
• Commitment to fostering a positive educational experience.
• Ability to travel to local sites withing region.

Required Experience:

• In a Long-term Care facility in Canada within the last two years, or relevant experience.
