AgeCare Jasper Place in Edmonton is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) for a part-time role. The HCA works with the care team to deliver resident care tailored to individual needs, under the supervision of a Staff Nurse.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, transfers, feeding, routine treatments, and supporting residents during meals and social activities. Applicants should have PCA/HCA certification, active CLHA registration, and English fluency.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Post-secondary education an asset.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Completion of a recognized Personal Care Aide (PCA/HCA 2002 or greater) Certificate Course or Equivalent Education Certificate.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the NCP and temperature controls.
• Assist with transfers using mechanical and manual aids and PPE.
• Feed residents during meals and nourishment/snack times.
• Provide routine treatments and care under supervision of a Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents with mobility and movement in daily activities.
• Accompany residents to social, recreational, and therapy activities.
