Job summary

National Diabetes Trust is seeking a Charitable Donations Pickup Driver in Ontario, up to 29 hours per week. The role involves collecting donated clothing and household items, driving a 3-Ton straight truck, and delivering items to partners and storage facilities.

You will report to the Operations Manager and ensure compliance with safety and paperwork requirements while promoting the organization’s mission in the community.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Ability to read maps.
• Ability to handle 10-50 lbs.
• Ability to drive a 3-Ton (16 foot) straight truck.
• Strong organizational skills and route mapping.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
• Must have Full Class 5 and/or G license or higher.
• Minimum 5 years driving; 2 years if trained.
• Clean driver abstract within 21 days.

Responsibilities

• Drive established routes to collect donated clothing and household items from homes and donation bins.
• Deliver items to Corporate Partners and storage facilities.
• Complete daily paperwork and Hours-of-Service logs.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections and coordinate with dispatch.
• Log pickups, unload merchandise, and return equipment to the office.
• Promote the organization’s mission and maintain a professional public image.
