Oxford Learning Edmonton Tamarack is seeking a part-time French teacher/tutor to guide small groups of 1–3 students in learning French and studying skills. You will teach at different levels and use provided curriculum, delivering instruction in French.

Responsibilities include keeping post-lesson notes, updating daily communications, and maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor with students and families. In-person role with after-school/evening hours and some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification; fourth-year students with tutoring experience considered.
• Strong written and spoken English, strong French skills.
• Ability to manage up to three students simultaneously.

Position Overview

Part‑time French teacher/tutor wanted. We teach students how to learn French in a small‑group setting, helping them improve academic and study skills. Our class sizes are 1–3 students. We provide all curriculum; teachers guide students through the material in French.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach up to 3 students in person at different levels.
• Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
• Maintain a friendly, professional manner at all times.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field (students in fourth year of university with tutoring experience considered).
• Experience: Some experience teaching/tutoring French at Grade 9‑12 or equivalent; strong English written and oral communication skills; strong French skills; ability to multitask with up to three students.
• Other: Strong background in spoken and written French and English, comfortable teaching up to Grade 9 level (Grade 12 preferred). Ability to instruct sessions in French.

Location & Schedule

Location: Oxford Learning Edmonton Tamarack, 963 Tamarack Way NW, Edmonton, AB. Must be able to commute to location; relocation packages not available. In‑person role. After‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm–8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (10:00 am–3:00 pm). Commitment until end of school year preferred; summer continuation preferred. Must reside in or within a short commute of the Tamarack area. Vulnerable sector screening mandatory.

Pay & Benefits

• Pay: $17 /hour.
