Job summary

A leading educational provider in Toronto is seeking a Part-Time French Tutor to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in both English and French, alongside a relevant degree. Qualifications

• Teaching certification is an asset.

Overview

Join the team at Oxford Learning Markham South as a part-time French teacher/tutor/coach. Our programs focus on teaching students how to learn French and improving their academic and study skills in a small group setting (maximum three students per teacher).

Responsibilities (Position Details)

• Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teach online and in-person sessions
• Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Fill in post-lesson notes
• Complete daily student communication updates
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times

Qualifications

We encourage applicants who meet most of the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification is an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 French core curriculum
• Experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 9–12 level (or equivalent)
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Position Requirements

• Hours: after school and evenings (4:00pm – 8:00pm) and some Saturdays (10:00am – 3:00pm)
• A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is a plus
• Instruct class sessions in French
• This role is in-person and requires you to commute to the location; relocation packages are not available
• Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory
