Job summary

School District No 45 (West Vancouver) is seeking Education Assistant(s) – Elementary at Ridgewell Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year, 29.5 hours per week. Salary starts at $33.15/hr at Step 1, plus 16% in lieu of benefits.

Reporting to the District Administrator and working with classroom teachers/LST, these roles support students with IEPs, provide personal care and mobility assistance when needed, and contribute to a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
• Post-secondary training such as Special Education Assistant certificate or related courses.
• Recent experience and training supporting ABA programs.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with parents, teachers, and students with exceptional needs.
• Ability to operate various types of special equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing adaptations and strategies per IEP.
• Support in classroom or learning support room under supervision of teacher/LST.
• Provide personal assistance, care, and/or positioning of students as required.
• Maintain safety and be vigilant regarding student needs.
