Job summary

Karis Disability Services seeks a Direct Support Professional to help with daily living activities and to collaborate with families, advocates, and community partners to promote citizenship and meaningful relationships.

This role offers flexible schedules across locations, an Employee Assistance Plan, tuition reimbursement, career development and training opportunities, competitive wages, and annual wage increases up to five years.

Qualifications

• A valid Sask. Full Class 5 or Sask. Novice 2 driver's license and access to reliable transportation
• Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and support individuals to promote full citizenship and strengthen relationships
• Collaborate with families, advocates, friends, and community partners to support people served
• Drive within local community as needed and ensure safety of participants while transported

Requirements

• A valid Sask. Full Class 5 or Sask. Novice 2 driver's license and access to reliable transportation
• Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract

Preferred

• 3-6 Months Experience (volunteer or employment)
• Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or post-secondary education in a related field

Working Conditions

• This location supports service users who smoke and/or vape
• May involve driving/travel within the local community with people supported as passengers
