Job summary

Empower Simcoe is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Support Worker to join our group homes in Orillia. You will provide direct support during overnight shifts on the asleep night line (7 shifts bi-weekly, 8pm–8am). Tasks include personal care, household duties, meal prep and assisting with finances.

Minimum qualification is a Developmental Service Worker diploma or equivalent. Weekend and holiday work is required; driver’s license is an asset.

We are presently accepting resumes for 1 Permanent Part-Time Support Worker to work in our group homes in Orillia.

Compensation Package

These positions will be assigned to our Permanent Asleep Night line working 7 shifts (up to 63 hours) bi-weekly between the hours of 8pm-8am.

• Additional hours may be available with a minimum rate of pay of $25.55/hour;
• 11 paid Statutory Holidays;

Minimum Qualifications

• Developmental Service Worker diploma or an acceptable educational equivalency (Child and Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, Social Service Worker, Nursing, Psychology, Personal Support Worker, etc.) as determined by the employer is required;
• When submitting your resume and cover letter, please also upload a copy of your diplomas / degrees. In your resume, please ensure that you specify the length of your programs;
• Ability to work weekends and holidays;
• Ability to attend team meetings and training as required during daytime hours;
• A valid class "G" driver's license and own reliable transportation is an asset;

Role/Duties

Our Direct Support Workers provide support to individuals with intellectual disabilities with all aspects of daily living within a group home setting. Responsibilities may include providing support during overnight shifts, personal care, household duties, meal preparation and finances. You may also support people to appointments or events to foster connections within the community.
