Job summary

Sensity is seeking an Intervenor to support people who are deafblind in Welland, Ontario. This part-time role (20–24 hours weekly) involves assisting with daily living, communication, and independent living for clients with dual sensory impairments.

Qualifications include a related college diploma and experience with disabilities. A valid driver’s license is required; training and a supportive team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Intervenor for Deafblind Persons or related human services field.
• Experience with developmental disabilities or challenging behaviours.
• ASL or SEE communication preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in home and community to live independently.
• Use communication techniques to relay information to others.
• Support daily living activities including personal care and hygiene.
• Provide personal care as needed (transfers, toileting, medications).
• Assist in setting and pursuing individual goals and program development.
• Keep documentation and records accurate and up to date.
