Job summary

The YWCA Saskatoon is seeking a part-time Building Maintenance Assistant to help with general and preventative maintenance of the 80,000 sq ft facility, including on-site shelter, childcare spaces, and program rooms.

Under the Building Maintenance Manager, you will perform light HVAC work, simple electrical repairs, tool operation, and ensure safety standards, MSDS compliance, and warranties are maintained. Hours are daytime with flexibility.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to follow maintenance best practices.
• Experience with hand and power tools; general maintenance.
• CPR/First Aid status is an asset.
• Criminal Record Check required.
• Experience in painting, carpentry, plumbing, or related trades is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance for all building operations.
• Perform safety checks daily to annually.
• Monitor and perform preventative maintenance for YWCA Saskatoon and the Saskatoon Community Service Village.
• Notify Manager before starting work if beyond skillset.
• Maintain MSDS information and warranties.
• Keep workspace clean and follow loss prevention measures.
• Perform related duties as required.
