Job summary

Altis Technology in Milton, ON is seeking an experienced bookkeeper for a long-term part-time contract. You will own full-cycle bookkeeping, manage AP/ACH, intercompany transactions, and support a QuickBooks migration to Enterprise.

Reporting to the General Manager and collaborating with an external CPA, you’ll ensure accurate, auditable books, perform month-end tasks, payroll processing, and oversee basic office accounting and tenant-related records.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive Canadian bookkeeping and full-cycle accounting experience.
• Advanced QuickBooks experience, including migration or implementation.
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs with financial data.
• Automotive dealership experience preferred; knowledge of OMVIC requirements.
• Strong knowledge of payroll, tax remittances, and government filings.
• Attention to detail with audit-ready books.
• Flexible, proactive approach with clear communication with clients and partners.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping (AP, ACH, intercompany, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, fixed assets, prepaids).
• Assist migration from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Enterprise.
• Process payroll and CRA calculations and source deductions.
• Prepare tax remittances, month-end close, T4s and year-end working papers with CPA support.
• Maintain vehicle costing entries and dealership accounting records.
• Oversee administrative tasks for approximately 10 tenants and related docs.
• Support regulatory requirements and office/customer-facing needs.
