Qualifications

• Experience with children in a child care centre or educational setting.
• Knowledge of best practices in the early learning and childcare sector.
• TB test current to hiring date and Police Vulnerable Sector Check current to hiring date.
• Standard First Aid and CPR, level C.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of High/Scope educational approach and Hanen program.
• Assist in creating a program plan reflecting children’s interests and diverse needs.
• Participate in short and long term planning and evaluation activities.
• Assist in observation and assessment of children’s progress to meet needs.
• Assist in providing Individual program plans for children with special needs.
• Demonstrate empathy and support to families and communicate respectfully with all stakeholders.
• Ensure activity areas are well-equipped and maintained.
• Guide children in independent eating, dressing, and toileting skills.
