Job summary

The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia is seeking a professional Sergeant to oversee daily security operations within the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms. Reporting to the Deputy Sergeant-at-Arms, you will manage Special Provincial Constables and Safety Officers to ensure policing standards are met and issues are resolved promptly.

The role requires strong leadership, five years policing experience from a Commonwealth jurisdiction, supervisory experience, and the ability to remain composed

Qualifications

• Five years policing experience from a Commonwealth jurisdiction within the last three years.
• Supervisory experience is required.
• Experience interacting with people under difficult or stressful circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Special Provincial Constables and Safety Officers.
• Coordinate security operations and ensure policing standards are maintained.
• Serve as key conduit for issue resolution involving the public, staff, management, and MLAs.
