Job summary

Municipality of Norristown is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer to patrol assigned areas and enforce parking ordinances and state regulations. This full-time, non-exempt position operates 8 am–4 pm, Monday through Friday, in all weather conditions.

Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License, and the ability to read and write English; experience with computerized parking enforcement equipment is preferred.

POSITION: PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

LOCATION: MUNICIPALITY OF NORRISTOWN

HOURLY WAGE: $21.5499 BASE PER HOUR

HOURS: 8 am - 4 pm (Monday –Friday)

EMPLOYMENT: FULL-TIME/NON-EXEMPT - AFSCME

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License. Ability to effectively read and write English and use computerized parking enforcement equipment; ability to understand orders and give information clearly; ability to work with the public efficiently, properly and pleasantly under all circumstances.

GENERAL DEFINTION: This is routine work patrolling assigned areas enforcing ordinances and state regulations governing the parking of motor vehicles. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Parking Enforcement Supervisor. Assignments are limited in nature and are to be carried out according to detailed instructions. Must be able to work in all weather conditions and perform other duties as directed by supervisors. Successful background checks required.
