Job summary

Cypress Mountain is looking for a Park Facility Operator to maintain day-use areas and greet guests in a picturesque mountain setting. You will perform hands-on tasks such as trail care, landscaping, painting, litter pickup, and washroom cleaning, with winter duties including snow shovelling and salting.

Set schedule: Wed-Sun 2:30pm-11pm. This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and a pride in outdoor spaces; includes flexible availability and outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Previous landscaping or grounds maintenance experience is an asset.
  • Chainsaw training or certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly and professional guest service by answering questions and offering assistance.
  • Maintain designated hiking trails.
  • Assist with parking operations.
  • Empty garbage and recycling bins.
  • Sweep walkways, stairways, and public areas.
  • Perform basic maintenance, including sanding and painting.
  • Maintain landscaped areas, including weeding, trimming, and lawn mowing.
  • Clean and maintain public washrooms.
  • Pick up litter and keep the resort clean and presentable.
  • Monitor the area for safety concerns and report hazards to a Supervisor.
  • Set up and maintain parking cones, barriers, and signage.
  • Follow safe work practices and report unsafe conditions.
  • Support other Cypress Mountain team members and in their roles as needed.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with guests and team members.
  • Follow established procedures and operational guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Park Facility Operators play an important role in creating an exceptional guest experience by maintaining Cypress Mountain's day-use areas and keeping them clean and welcoming. Working outdoors in a beautiful mountain setting, you'll perform a variety of hands-on tasks including trail and grounds maintenance, landscaping, painting, litter collection, and washroom cleaning, while also interacting with guests and providing friendly assistance. Winter duties are similar with the addition of snow shovelling and salting. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Legally able to work in Canada.
  • Valid driver's license and insured/reliable vehicle to get to/from the mountain.

18.60-22/hour (DOE)
