Job summary

Capilano Group in North Vancouver is hiring Park Appearance Team Members to maintain cleanliness of outdoor facilities, snow removal in winter, and safety-first operations across trails, stairs, and buildings.

You will perform landscaping tasks, debris removal, roof/gutter cleaning, and assist with seasonal decor. The role is seasonal mid-November to mid-February with potential extension; wage is $20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• One year of guest service experience, general labour or related experience.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of team members.
• Strong guest service orientation.
• Landscaping experience; familiarity with leaf blowers/snowblowers; aptitude for repair work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, aesthetics and environmental condition of exterior areas and buildings.
• Clear leaves and debris from walkways.
• Clear roofs, gutters, and drains of debris.
• Maintain planted areas of the park including pruning, planting, watering.
• Complete basic maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Support installation/removal of seasonal décor and lights.
• Pressure wash surfaces as needed.
• Support snow removal and salting during winter months.
• Maintain forest floor by removing trash and monitoring foot traffic impact.
• Support efficient execution of projects as required.
• Assist with property maintenance requests from other CSBP locations.
• Support Capilano Standards for inventory and waste management.
• Follow PPE and Health and Safety requirements.
• Support operations during holidays and high attendance.
• Support Repair Maintenance and Custodial teams as needed.
• Perform warehouse runs using company vehicles.
• Assist with restocking of propane throughout the park.
• Support seasonal transitions in equipment and tasks.
• Clean and maintain ponds and water features.

Job description

Park Appearance Team Members

are responsible for ensuring the overall cleanliness of the park’s outdoor facilities are maintained to a level that amazes our guest. This includes stairways, walkways and pathways. During the winter season, the Park Appearance team in conjunction with the rest of the Facilities and Grounds team, is responsible for snow removal and de-icing of the park grounds. As an active member of this team, this position is responsible for keeping safety as a top priority in all daily tasks.

What You'll Do

• Support departmental operations through holidays and high attendance

Considerations

The ideal candidate must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business. Team Members must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time, and must be willing and able to work in a variety of weather conditions (including heat, rain and winter conditions). Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 100lbs, as well aslift and climb a ladder.

The wage for this role is $20.00 per hour. This is a seasonal position from mid-November through to mid-February, with the potential to extend the contract depending on department needs.
