Overview

We are currently seeking a Contract Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our global Legal & Compliance team for a short-term contract from July 1, 2025 to August 30, 2025. You are enthusiastic, motivated, and keen to apply your current experience to assist our team. Reporting to our VP, Division General Counsel, and Division Compliance Officer, you will provide support for various types of corporate transactions, corporate governance, compliance, contracting and intellectual property matters.

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is office based in Morton, IL or Calgary, AB.

Responsibilities

As our Contract Paralegal/Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for providing authoritative and comprehensive paralegal services meeting the commercial and strategic needs of the business. Specifically, you will:

  1. Prepare, draft and send standard form documents and templates
  2. Coordinate execution of contracts and corporate resolutions
  3. Maintain the Legal & Compliance department's document filing system, and be responsible for document and form management
  4. Oversee the Intellectual Property files and registers
  5. Assist with special projects and training as assigned, including but not limited to acting as a compliance lead for internal compliance initiatives, risk assessment reviews, and assistance with external customer requests
  6. Maintain current knowledge of internal policies and procedures relative to legal and regulatory requirements
  7. Conduct research as assigned
  8. Perform such other tasks as required from time to time
Qualifications

Must Haves:

  1. A minimum 3 years of relevant experience in business, IP and/or regulatory law acquired at a large firm or multinational company
  2. Graduate of a post-secondary, accredited Paralegal program or equivalent paralegal work experience will be considered in lieu
  3. Capacity to manage many files simultaneously, work well under pressure and exercise initiative
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  5. Willingness to occasionally accommodate a flexible schedule
  6. Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and direct competing priorities, whilst working in a fast-paced environment
  7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Client-service oriented, including strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Proactive and positive team player
Nice to Haves:
  • Experience with Canadian, UK and EU privacy laws
  • Working knowledge of intellectual property global filing requirements
  • Contract management experience
