Lawson Lundell LLP is seeking a Senior Paralegal – Commercial Real Estate / Development to join our Commercial Paralegal group in our Kelowna office. The successful candidate is an enthusiastic and hardworking team player who would like to work with lawyers in Commercial Real Estate. The regular working hours for this role are Monday – Friday, 8 : 30am – 4 : 30pm.
Standard Responsibilities
- Manage commercial real estate purchase and sale transactions from start to finish
- Review commercial contract of purchase and sale, easements, rights of way, subdivisions and strata plan filings
- Prepare documents with respect to acquisitions and sales of various types of commercial properties, financing and development of land
- Coordinate and assist at closings, including preparation of closing agendas and electronic registration of title documents
- Attend to registration of documents and security in land title offices and other government registries
- Prepare and assemble closing books
- Liaise with all internal and external parties involved with the transaction,
- Review and respond to correspondence
- Track and record billable time on files
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years’ commercial real estate paralegal experience
- Paralegal certification from an accredited institution
- Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office
- Solid understanding of BC land title registration requirements
- Proven familiarity with provincial Real Estate terminology and forms
- Has the ability to work both independently and as part of a collegial team
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Displays extraordinary customer service in a professional, mature and courteous manner
- Highly dependable and adaptable with great work ethic
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Thetypical salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
