About our Client

Our client is a newly established law firm and is currently looking for an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join their dynamic team in Kelowna on a full-time permanent basis. This is a role in which you will be working closely with lawyers on various real estate or commercial matters. Salary ranges from 65-85k Depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with due diligence searches (i.e. Land Title and BC Online)
  • Preparing and drafting legal documents and correspondence required for the completion of real estate transactions
  • Assisting with receipt and payout of funds in trust, and preparing invoices
  • Organizing lawyers’ calendars, managing file timeliness, and maintaining systems
  • Performing various administrative tasks including file opening, billing, and following up on outstanding accounts
  • Communicating with clients, counsel, financial institutions, and other parties as required
  • Other administrative duties as required

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience as a real estate legal assistant or paralegal
  • Experience with drafting and filing land title forms and applications
  • Paralegal certification / diploma from an accredited institution is an asset but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities
