Job summary

Wajax Corporation in Canada seeks an additive assembler to wire, lay out and install control hardware, including PLCs and DCS systems, for panel applications. You will read drawings, assemble components, and maintain quality while adhering to safety policies.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and the ability to work overtime when needed. Prior panel-wiring experience is preferred, with training offered to the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or DEP preferred.
  • 6–12 months experience in a similar role or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Able to read electrical/mechanical drawings and interpret diagrams.
  • Basic electrical knowledge is required.
  • Welding knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble brackets, mounts, and supports onto power units, gensets, or other equipment.
  • Prepare and install hoses (pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.).
  • Clean and paint skids, brackets, mountings, and piping.
  • Install belts, lines, wiring or harnesses as required.
  • Perform duties neatly, accurately, and on schedule to meet production targets.
  • Share technical knowledge with coworkers.

Job description

Duties include wiring, layout and installation of control hardware such as PLC's, DCS systems, contactor relays, protection relays etc. in a wide variety of control panel applications. Qualification and skills include a minimum of 1 year experience, be mechanically inclined, be able to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings as well as having strong problem solving skills. Must be able to work independently or as a team. Must be able to work overtime when needed.

Prior experience wiring control panels is a preferred but we will also offer training.

The Role
  • Assembles brackets, mounts, and supports onto power units, gensets or other industrial equipment or components.
  • Prepares and installs hoses (such as pneumatic, hydraulic and/or other)
  • Performs cleaning and painting of skids, brackets, mountings, and piping.
  • Installs belts, lines, electrical wiring or harnesses and other items as required.
  • Performs all jobs neatly, accurately, and in a timely manner to meet production schedules.
  • Supports other business activities as required.
  • Maintains a strong customer focus; works with both internal and external customers.
  • Understands and adheres to all organizational health and safety policies and procedures and ensures the safety of self and others.
  • Share technical knowledge with coworkers.
The Candidate

Education: High School Diploma or DEP preferred.

Work Experience: 6-12 months in a similar role or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Knowledge: previous experience in mechanics or equipment assembly an asset.

Basic electrical knowledge.

Welding knowledge an asset
