Job summary

Toronto General Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Palliative Care Program. You will work with the interprofessional team to assess in-patients and determine care plans in collaboration with palliative care physicians.

You will lead education, contribute to research, and advance nursing practice within UHN. A Masters in Nursing and Ontario licensure are required; BCLS certification is also expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in nursing (Masters) required or by completion date.
• Minimum 3–5 years in palliative care practice.
• Current nursing licence in Ontario (CNO).
• BCLS certification required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and educate in an interprofessional team.
• Experience with care planning and patient advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient consultations with physicians to determine care plans.
• Foster collaborative practice among nursing and other teams.
• Deliver and coordinate education and professional development activities.
• Engage in research activities related to palliative care.
• Participate in program leadership and evaluation activities.
