Job summary

Eaton's ES AMER PCS division in Edmonton is seeking a Paint Line Operator for on-site work at the Edmonton Power Centre. The role covers operating, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of the Manual Powder Coat system and spray-painting processes, loading/unloading parts, and ensuring quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in manufacturing, is comfortable with reading drawings and using shop-floor software, and can work the 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year in a manufacturing environment or 6 months of assembly experience.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
  • Residents within 80 km of Burlington considered; no relocation offered.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on the Manual Powder Coat system and spray-painting process.
  • Load/unload parts and manage painting booth and tools per instructions.
  • Follow drawings/schematics and use shop floor software to view/print fabrication data.
  • Maintain coating integrity, monitor cure times and ensure safety and environmental standards.

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Paint Line Operator. The hours for this position are 7:00am-3:30pm (Mon-Thurs)

The hourly rate for this position is $$22/hr per hour.

What You’ll Do

Are you enthusiastic about manufacturing? Do you have experience in light industrial painting? Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, this position is responsible for operating, troubleshooting and the preventive maintenance of the Manual Powder Coat system, the Spray-painting process and Material Handling during the loading and unloading of parts.

If so, we want you to join our team as a: Painter. This position will be on-site based out of the Edmonton Power Centre, in Edmonton, Alberta.

Workflow organization and optimization

Prioritize jobs per required date and/or based on supervision direction and Inform supervisor of potential production or material problems, including delay in shipment and inspect final product for cosmetic, coverage, cure, adhesion and thickness.

Painting Booth And Tools Management

Adhere To Detailed Specifications, Work Instructions, Manufacturing Information And Written Or Verbal Instructions From Supervision. Run And Operate

  • Dynamic Machine Management software (DMM). Use DMM hold codes to report productions issue.
  • Drawing search software (Enovia, Vault etc.) to view and print drawings for fabrication purpose.
  • Ensure the long-term integrity of the Powder Coating System by identifying & replacing wearable components as required. Ensure the cure oven temperature vs. line speed is providing the proper environment to reach the appropriate dwell times and cure times for the powder.
Painting system and maintenance

Ensure the chemical concentricity (mix) and pH levels are within recommended range. While ensuring that we have a steady supply of product and touch up paints available. Perform titration test & trouble shoot chemical concentricity (mix) and pH level variations. Replace Wash System Chemical as required. Maintain the integrity of the Pre-Treat system and ensure the waste solution does not exceed environmental limitations. Maintain Powder in proper containers and storage requirements.

Certification and Compliance

Ensure certification and assessment/audit scores meet objectives (ISO 14001), with quality standards being adhered to as per Eaton requirements. Share best practices across the plant.

Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton’s Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.

What will make you successful?

The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility and a willingness to learn. The candidate should be comfortable wearing a respirator and working on a paint line and paint booth.

Experience reading and interpreting drawings and schematics will help you are you perform standard work from established procedures and processes. Demonstrated experience of utilizing mechanical tools and measuring equipment would assist you on shift.

Good problem solving, mathematical skills and troubleshooting ability. Along with the proven ability to use computers and various types of software on industrial machines are highly valued.

  • Be legally authorized to work in Canada without the sponsorship of a company.
  • Only candidates residing within an 80 km radius of Burlington will be considered for this position. No moving (relocation) is offered for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One plus year working in a similar light industrial painting environment/company.
