JOB DESCRIPTION: Paid Social Specialist

*Internally, this role is known as Media Planner*

This position sits in our Marketing & Technology service predominantly based in London. We combine data, technology, creative content, and paid media to crack brands’ business problems & drive revenue through a variety of digital marketing solutions like ad campaigns, augmented reality, and chatbots. Our clients include ASOS, Just Eat Takeaway, Twitch, TikTok, and The White Company.

JOB PURPOSE

Here at DEPT, we are proud of the award-winning, creative campaigns and content that we produce for a range of exciting and well-known brands and we believe that our Media Team is pivotal in the success of those campaigns. Our Media Team is made up of both paid and organic media specialists based predominantly in the UK and EMEA, and we are looking for a new Toronto-based member to join the team!

Using data & insights, the Media Planner will develop solid paid media strategies and plans across a range of biddable channels, including TikTok, Meta, Snapchat, X, YouTube, Reddit, Pinterest & more. The Media Planner will work closely with other departments, such as Creative, Tech, and Production to ensure we continue to create award-winning content!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of Media Planner is exciting, varied, and constantly evolving. In this role, you will:

  1. Plan, buy and optimise paid social media activity
  2. Respond to client (internal and external) briefs
  3. Report on activity on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
  4. Develop paid media strategies and create key tactical plans to deliver on them
  5. Deliver media plans to the highest possible standard
  6. Optimise existing paid social media deliverables
  7. Ensure delivery of work is to the highest possible standard
  8. Ensure constant innovation across all deliverables
  9. Contribute to our creative process by sharing your ideas and experience
  10. Manage budgets for paid media deliverables
  11. Present work internally and externally
  12. Complete work to deadlines

SKILLS AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  1. Relevant experience within a paid media based role
  2. Strong understanding of digital paid media, particularly paid social media
  3. Advanced proficiency with Ads across a number of social media platforms including but not limited to; TikTok, Meta, Snapchat, and YouTube. Familiarity with Google Ads and Pinterest is advantageous.
  4. Experience with brand and performance campaigns
  5. Intermediate or higher proficiency in the use of Excel/Sheets and familiarity with Word/Docs and PowerPoint/Slides
  6. An inquisitive and numeric mindset
  7. Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  8. Excellent time management and organisational skills with a high attention to detail
  9. Strong presentation skills
  10. Ability to react quickly within a fast-paced environment
