The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to support the 24/7 Rapid Response Lab in Haematopathology. You will perform a range of tests, interpret results and ensure quality control to aid patient care.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology (or Diploma) with CMLTO registration; MLS is preferred. Strong problem solving and teamwork are essential, with rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and/or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
• Solid computer skills.
• Solid technical skills and theoretical knowledge within Haematology and Coagulation.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated customer service orientation and ability to relate well to others.
• Strong organization skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsabilités

• Perform analytical tests, assess, interpret and report results.
• Prepare and issue samples/products/specimens.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and records of testing.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Practice and perform laboratory tests with defined time expectations (TATs).
• Recognize failure, troubleshoot and document actions.
