Job summary

LifeLabs is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist in Toronto for a part-time casual position. You will perform hematology testing, interpret results, and support patient care with accurate data entry and reporting, in a teaching-oriented lab that emphasizes collaboration and continuous improvement.

Applicants should hold a medical laboratory science degree, be CMLTO registered, and demonstrate strong analytical and computer skills, with the ability to handle color-visual tasks and maintain patient

Qualifications

• College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
• CMLTO registered and in good standing.
• Knowledge of flow cytometry principles preferred.
• Experience in Hematology and transfusion medicine testing is an asset.
• Strong computer skills with LIS, MS Office and data management software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to distinguish multiple colors.
• Safety and confidentiality adherence.

Job Title: Medical Lab Technologist

Job Summary

OurMedical Lab Technologists provide accurate and timely interpretive and diagnostic specimen testing and reporting. Through accuracy, quality, efficiency and expediting test results, you will contribute to patient well-being and the achievement of better health outcomes. LifeLabs facilities are also known as teaching laboratories and offer opportunities to share knowledge in a collaborative environment. You will have 24-hour medical support through our Medical Science team and Medical Library, and the ability to teach our college and university student placements.
Status: Part Time Casual

Shift: 7.5 hours per day, 0 – 20 hours per week

Your responsibilities will include:

What you will bring to the role:

• College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and/or experience.
• CMLTO registered and in good standing.
• Knowledge of basic flow cytometry principles, specimen preparation, and analysis is preferred
• Experience in Hematology and transfusion medicine testing is an asset.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with laboratory staff, pathologists, and healthcare professionals to support patient care while adhering to LifeLabs standards of safety, accuracy and efficiency.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS), Microsoft Office applications, and data management software.
• Excellent communication skills to enable you to relate with a wide variety of people.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail who demonstrates curiosity.
• Ability to distinguish multiple colors.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office products, as well as laboratory analyzers.
