Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Mississauga is seeking a dependable packer to support end-of-line packaging for Bag-in-Box products. You will follow quality, safety and productivity policies to ensure correct packaging, while preparing totes and boxes and supplying materials as needed.

The role requires standing for the shift and teamwork, with two available shifts: mornings 6:00am–2:15pm or afternoons 2:00pm–10:15pm, at an hourly rate of $19.09. Accommodation during recruitment is available upon request.

Qualifications

• Must have secondary school diploma.
• Be able to stand for entire shift and perform repetitive work.
• Team player with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Quality, safety and productivity policies and procedures to ensure the products, films, glands and taps are produced according to specifications
• Carries out the packaging of finished products at the end of the production line.
• Ensure quality controls are being completed
• Prepares Totes, Small BIB Boxes (body and covers), evacuates finished products, supplies raw materials (Taps and Gland).
• Ensuring the wastages are minimum as a part of sustainability and environmental protection.
• Adhering to additional responsibilities put forward by reporting manager.
• Other duties as required
• Must be able to pack on both side (right and left)
• May be required to help the QC to carry out quality controls
• Complies with and enforces the rules in terms of Quality, Hygiene & Food Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, and the Environment
