Smurfit Westrock in Ontario, Canada is seeking a Production Supervisor to coordinate and direct the work of the production staff on the afternoon shift (3:00pm – 11:00pm). Reporting to the Production Manager, you will ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met.
You will lead daily activities, assign tasks, monitor performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining production records and inventory.

Reporting to the Production Manager, this position will serve as a first-level Team Leader, coordinating and directing the work of the Production Staff.

The Supervisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the shift and ensuring that all company standards and customer commitments (safety, quality, production, cost, on-time delivery) are met. You will work in a collaborative environment and coordinate production operations and maintain effective quality procedures and safety regulations.
The current position is afternoon shift; Monday – Friday, 3:00pm – 11:00pm.
All candidates must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment medical.
Coordinates daily activities by allocating work assignments and determining work distribution, setting priorities and leading the team.
Reassigns work, as required, to ensure no interruption in service to customers.
Demonstrates & enforces plant safety regulations, housekeeping and engages employees to become safety conscious.
Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
Identifies staff development and training needs, documents training and ensures that training is effective.
Maintain proper production records and logs ensuring process controls are in place & are effective.
Maintain proper material inventory levels, initiate purchase orders and reconcile inventory.
Maintains knowledge of corrugated and converting machinery and equipment and board grades.
This posting is for an existing job vacancy. The salary range for this position is $70,500 - $117,500. The range listed is the expected pay for roles in Ontario, Canada. Your pay will be based on factors such as your skills, experience, and education.
