Job summary

OrganiGram Inc in Winnipeg is seeking a Packaging Technician to join our production team. The role reports to the Packaging and Sanitation Supervisor and requires a proactive, safety‑minded individual who can operate in a fast‑paced environment while following SOPs and GMP guidelines.

Responsibilities include housekeeping of the packaging area, accurate waste handling, equipment cleaning and maintenance, and contributing to SOP improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong sense of work quality and safety.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to meet physical demands (standing, bending, walking).
• Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Comply with SOPs and GMP in a full-scale production environment.
• Responsible for general housekeeping of packaging area: Clean equipment and maintain cleanliness in work area
• Comply with all safety and health regulations
• Weigh, record, and move waste product to the destruction cage in accordance with outlined SOPs
• Report any issues to shift lead or supervisor
• Cleaning and maintenance of processing and packaging equipment
• Optimize production and packaging related SOPs
• Minimize daily product waste, such as consumables, labels, pouches, gummies, etc.
• Utilize a proactive approach as it relates to daily operation, maintenance, adjustments, cleaning, and planning for success
• Other duties as assigned

Packaging Technician

Location: Winnipeg

Status: Full-time, Permanent

Reports to: PackagingSupervisor

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7 am to 530 pm

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Packaging and Sanitation Supervisor, our ideal candidates is a self-starter who takes initiative, displays problem-solving and decision-making abilities, has excellent organizational skills and can maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast paced and changing work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) in a full-scale production environment
• Responsible for general housekeeping of packaging area: Clean equipment and maintain cleanliness in work area
• Comply with all safety and health regulations
• Weigh, record, and move waste product to the destruction cage in accordance with outlined SOP’s
• Report any issues to shift lead or supervisor

• Experience in food manufacturing and/or in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

• Previous packaging experience would be considered an asset
• Keen eye for detail, basic math skills required
• Ability to meeting physical demands including reaching, bending, walking, standing and performing repetitive work
