Job summary

The Jewish Federation of Ottawa is seeking a Part-time Overnight Security Guard to join our in-house security team at the Jewish Community Campus of Ottawa.

The role offers consistent part-time hours, on-call opportunities, and requires a valid Ontario Security License; strong English communication and the ability to stay calm under pressure are essential. You will patrol interiors and exteriors, control access, monitor CCTV, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Ontario Security License at time of hire.
• Ability to calmly handle stressful situations and emergencies.
• Reliable, punctual and able to communicate effectively in English.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Interior and exterior property patrols.
• Building access control and monitoring.
• Emergency response and incident management.
• Event security and VIP protection as required.
• Incident investigations and Fire Safety checks.
• Camera surveillance and visible security presence.
• Participate in on-going training.

Job Description

You must be able to calmly handle stressful situations and remain cool headed in an emergency of any type. You must be responsive, pro-active, and have positive means of handling stress. Prior experience with a verifiable record of managing challenging and difficult people and situations, with positive outcomes, is preferable. You must already have a valid Ontario Security License at time of hiring (mandatory).

You must be reliable, punctual and able to communicate effectively in English.
