Haven Toronto, in partnership with St. Michael’s Homes, seeks a Registered Practical Nurse for the Hospital Overflow Program. The overnight team provides clinical assessment, basic nursing care, and client safety through the night within a hospital-linked overflow setting.

Responsibilities include independent nursing care, client orientation, wound/foot care, and collaboration with physicians and other providers. A strong background in harm reduction and mental health/addiction care is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; RPN license required.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Knowledge of nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation.
• Ability to work in substance use treatment; understanding addictions (alcohol/opioids).
• Front-line nursing harm reduction experience preferred.
• Experience with mental health/addiction clients an asset.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide overnight nursing care and clinical assessment.
• Maintain safe environment and client monitoring through the night.
• Orient clients to medical services and support a welcoming space.
• Develop and evaluate inter-professional plan of care with physicians and team.
• Provide wound and foot care; manage OTC medications as needed.
• Support STOP smoking cessation program; CAMH training may be required.
• Maintain accurate written documentation per policies and procedures.
• Identify health trends to inform program planning and initiatives.
• Offer Naloxone training to colleagues.
