Job summary

Unidine Canada in Vernon, BC is seeking a dedicated EVS-CP (Environmental Services) worker to perform light cleaning duties across the facility, maintaining a clean and orderly environment for residents and staff.

Responsibilities include sanitizing washrooms, cleaning surfaces, handling linen, responding to emergencies, following health and safety guidelines, and lifting up to 20 pounds. English proficiency required; healthcare or hotel cleaning experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience, asset in healthcare, hotel or commercial cleaning.
• Good command of English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect areas and items such as washrooms, vents, interior windows, walls, glass, doors, and mirrors
• Collect, wash and fold linen
• Damp mop hard floors and auto scrub as needed
• Check all primary areas, lobbies, stairwells, elevators/escalators, and mezzanines and clean as required
• Vacuum carpeted areas and complete carpet extraction as needed
• Remove all garbage from resident rooms and common areas
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident and personnel information
• Maintain a safe environment at all times (e.g. use of wet floor signs)
• Perform duties according to health and safety guidelines
• Report all injuries and hazards to the supervisor immediately
• Responding to emergency cleanups as required
• Carry the community emergency phone overnight, assist with resident health emergencies, co-ordinating with first responders.
