Job summary

Renaissance Retirement Residence in Langley, BC is seeking an Evening Housekeeper to clean resident apartments and common areas according to the posted schedules, using appropriate cleaning and sanitation methods. The role runs 11:00pm–4:30am with a 20-hour workweek (Fri–Mon).

A First Aid certificate is required; strong English communication is needed, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. A Vulnerable Sector Check is required or willingness to obtain one; wage is CAD 20.58 per hour.

Qualifications

• Good oral and written English communication skills.
• Ability to provide day-to-day feedback.
• Knowledge and experience with standard institutional cleaning techniques.
• Experience in healthcare cleaning and laundry procedures is desirable.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
• Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• To clean areas according to assigned schedules using appropriate cleaning and sanitation methods and procedures.
• To clean residents' apartments and common areas, including furniture, kitchen and washroom fixtures, walls, ceilings, lights, vents and windows.
• To operate floor care machines and steam cleaning equipment.
• To strip, scrub, spray, and buff all carpet and non-carpet floor surfaces.
• To pick up garbage and transport to designated areas.
• To adhere to residence policies and safety rules.
• To prepare documentation as required according to residence policy.
• To be aware of Resident Rights & Responsibilities and promote them.
• To attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
• To participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
• To work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults.
• To uphold the organization's values relating to ethics and integrity.
• To complete other duties as assigned.
