Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a dedicated housekeeping associate to support healthcare and commercial cleaning operations. You will perform light cleaning, linen handling, and floor care to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.

Responsibilities include disinfecting washrooms, lobbies, and common areas; managing linen washing and folding; following health and safety guidelines; and reporting injuries or hazards promptly.

Qualifications

• Clean and disinfect areas such as washrooms, vents, interior windows, walls, glass, doors and mirrors.
• Collect, wash and fold linen.
• Damp mop hard floors and auto scrub as needed.
• Inspect primary areas incl. lobbies, stairwells, elevators/escalators and mezzanines and clean as required.
• Vacuum carpeted areas and perform carpet extraction as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and personnel information.
• Follow health and safety guidelines; report injuries or hazards to the supervisor.
• Respond to emergency cleanups and carry the community emergency phone overnight.
• Assist with resident health emergencies by coordinating with first responders.
• Previous housekeeping experience asset.

Job description

Salary: $22.28
You will be responsible for performing light cleaning duties that maintain the establishment in a clean and orderly manner.

• Clean and disinfect areas and items such as, washrooms, vents, interior windows, walls, glass, doors, and mirrors
• Collect, wash and fold linen
• Damp mop hard floors and auto scrub as needed
• Check all primary areas, lobbies, stairwells, elevators/escalators, and mezzanines and clean as required
• Vacuum carpeted areas and complete carpet extraction as needed
• Remove all garbage from resident rooms and common areas
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident and personnel information
• Maintain a safe environment at all times (e.g. use of wet floor signs)
• Perform duties according to health and safety guidelines
• Report all injuries and hazards to the supervisor immediately
• Responding to emergency cleanups as required
• Carry the community emergency phone overnight, assist with resident health emergencies, co-ordinating with first responders.
• Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in healthcare, hotel or commercial cleaning, is an asset.

• Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage heavy workload.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job, including requirements to lift up to 20 pounds
