Park Place Seniors Living is seeking an Overnight Housekeeper/Concierge to cover 11pm–7am. Responsibilities include housekeeping, front desk reception, and emergency response within the residence.

You will work independently, maintain safety and cleanliness, and support residents while coordinating with on-call leadership. Previous experience in a seniors living environment is preferred; First Aid certification is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a seniors living or healthcare environment is an asset.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1 (or willingness to obtain, as per Park Place standards).

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to resident emergencies and building alarms.
  • Perform nightly housekeeping tasks and maintain common areas.
  • Provide front desk/reception coverage overnight and assist residents as needed.
  • Document shift activity and incidents in logs or reports.

Overnight Housekeeper / Concierge- 11pm to 7am

POSITION TITLES:

JOB FUNCTION:

Administration / Housekeeping / Resident Support

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Site Leader or Designate

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to and supporting the Site Leader, the Overnight Housekeeper/Concierge is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and security of the Park Place Home during overnight hours. This role combines housekeeping, front desk coverage, and emergency response.

The Overnight Housekeeper/Concierge is often working independently and must demonstrate strong judgment, reliability, and initiative. They are responsible for responding to resident and building emergencies, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and providing reception support as required.

This position supports Park Place Seniors Living’s commitment to resident safety and contributes to a culture of safety at all times.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Resident & Building Safety
  • Responds promptly and appropriately to resident emergencies, including medical alerts, falls, and urgent requests.
  • Responds to building-related emergencies such as fire alarms, floods, or security concerns, following established procedures.
  • Monitors security systems, cameras, and alerts; conducts regular building checks.
  • Ensures all incidents are documented and reported according to policy.
  • Acts as the primary on‑site contact overnight for residents, families, and emergency services.
Housekeeping & Cleaning Duties
  • Completes assigned nightly cleaning tasks, including:
    • Mopping floors (main areas, hallways, common spaces)
    • Vacuuming carpets and rugs
    • Cleaning and sanitizing public washrooms
    • Garbage removal and waste management
    • Cleaning common areas (e.g., card room, lounge, reception area)
  • Ensures cleaning supplies are stocked and stored properly.
  • Maintains cleanliness standards in accordance with infection control and safety policies.
  • Identifies and reports maintenance or sanitation concerns.
Reception & Administrative Support
  • Answers and directs phone calls and responds to inquiries as required.
  • Provides limited front desk/reception coverage overnight.
  • Documents shift activity, incidents, and completed tasks in communication logs or reports.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records as required.
  • Supports communication between departments by relaying important information.
General Responsibilities
  • Works independently while maintaining communication with on-call leadership when required.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and accountability.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all resident and organizational information.
  • Participates in orientation, training, and in-services as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Adheres to all Park Place Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Uses safe work practices and proper body mechanics when performing cleaning duties.
  • Takes every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety of residents, self, and others.
  • Reports hazards, incidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Works safely in an overnight/working-alone environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping, concierge, or customer service preferred.
  • Experience in a seniors living or healthcare environment is an asset.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1 (or willingness to obtain, as per Park Place standards).
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written English).
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment, especially in emergency situations.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize between cleaning and urgent situations.
  • Demonstrated reliability and accountability.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in stressful or emergency situations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team environment.
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning duties.
  • Must have a clear Criminal Record Check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Extended periods of independent work, including overnight shifts.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
HEALTH AND SAFETY RISKS – ENVIRONMENT

Physical:
Strain from lifting, bending, repetitive cleaning tasks.

Environmental:
Working alone, night shift conditions, exposure to dust and cleaning environments.

Chemical:
Exposure to cleaning products.

Biological:
Exposure to communicable illnesses (e.g., colds, influenza, GI).
