Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a housekeeping attendant to maintain a clean, safe environment in healthcare facilities operated by the company. You will perform light cleaning duties, disinfect areas, and ensure resident and staff spaces remain orderly.

The role requires good English, reliable time management, the ability to follow instructions, and the physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Prior housekeeping experience is an asset, with on‑the‑job training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, preferably in healthcare, hotel or commercial cleaning.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect washrooms, vents, interior windows, walls, glass, doors and mirrors.
• Collect, wash and fold linen.
• Damp mop hard floors; auto scrub as needed.
• Clean lobbies, stairwells, elevators/escalators, mezzanines as required.
• Vacuum carpeted areas and perform carpet extraction as needed.
• Remove garbage from resident rooms and common areas.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and personnel information.
• Maintain a safe environment; use wet floor signs.
• Follow health and safety guidelines; report injuries and hazards.
• Respond to emergency cleanups; carry the emergency phone overnight and coordinate with first responders.

Job description

You will be responsible for performing light cleaning duties that maintain the establishment in a clean and orderly manner.

• Clean and disinfect areas and items such as, washrooms, vents, interior windows, walls, glass, doors, and mirrors
• Collect, wash and fold linen
• Damp mop hard floors and auto scrub as needed
• Check all primary areas, lobbies, stairwells, elevators/escalators, and mezzanines and clean as required
• Vacuum carpeted areas and complete carpet extraction as needed
• Remove all garbage from resident rooms and common areas
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident and personnel information
• Maintain a safe environment at all times (e.g. use of wet floor signs)
• Perform duties according to health and safety guidelines
• Report all injuries and hazards to the supervisor immediately
• Responding to emergency cleanups as required
• Carry the community emergency phone overnight, assist with resident health emergencies, co-ordinating with first responders.
• Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in healthcare, hotel or commercial cleaning, is an asset.

• Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage heavy workload.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job, including requirements to lift up to 20 pounds
