Job summary

CommerceLink Logistics ULC, a division of Canada Cartage, is hiring a full-time local driver serving Cornwall, Ontario. You will be responsible for safe, on-time deliveries, vehicle inspections, and accurate documentation while working overnight and weekends; home daily.

The role requires an AZ/Class 1 license with at least 3 years of commercial driving experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and strong customer service skills; overtime pay applies.

Responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment on tractor-trailer before, during, and after trips.

• Perform physical work with lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Use satellite tracking equipment and comply with regulations.

This position provides opportunity to be home daily while working overnight and weekend shifts. Drivers will be responsible for timely and secure local deliveries, completing vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing excellent customer service.

Position Summary

What You'll Do.

Perform inspections of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment of tractor trailer unit before, during, and after trips, including gauges, lighting and electrical systems, and visual checks of potential water, oil, fuel and air leaks.

Connect and disconnect semi-trailer hoses.

Completing all applicable paperwork. Maintain up-to-date Driver Log throughout the duration of each shift.

Responsible for communicating with Dispatch.

Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and co-workers in a professional manner.

Be able to perform physical work at times (lifting in excess of 50lbs).

Use of satellite tracking equipment.

Observing and complying with rules and regulations of the Ministry of Transportation and the Highway Traffic Act.

Minimum Qualifications

Age - 23 or older

License - AZ / Class 1 Driver's License - 3 years driving experience

Expected hours: 48 per week but could vary depending on the operational needs.
