Job summary

Airgas Sherwood Park is seeking an Outside Sales Associate to develop rentals and sales of welding equipment and related products in the allocated region. You will work under the District Manager to drive growth, present solutions, and close deals.

Responsibilities include following leads, preparing quotes, conducting demonstrations, and maintaining literature while building long-term customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in business/management.
• Ability to lead, delegate and follow up effectively.
• Strong communication and independent decision making.
• Problem-solving mindset for conflicting goals and situations.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

• Develop rental and sales of welding equipment, power generation and weld automation in the assigned region.
• Follow sales leads, present solutions, prepare quotations and maintain literature.
• Provide customer follow-ups and assess customer needs to recommend solutions.
• Conduct onsite equipment demonstrations and make product recommendations.
• Develop long-term relationships through contracts and/or agreements.
• Meet or exceed rental and sales goals and represent Airgas at events.

Airgas Red-D-Arc is Hiring an Outside Sales Associate in Sherwood Park, AB!

We are looking for you!

• Base pay plus commission
• Monthly auto allowance
• 25%-50-% Travel within assigned territory

• Under the direction of the District Manager, the incumbent will develop rentals and sales of welding equipment, power generation and weld automation in the assigned region by following sales leads, making presentations, preparing quotations, maintaining all required literature and providing customer follow-ups. The incumbent will also assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Maintains a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc's health and safety guidelines.
• Develops and increases the end user customer base by effective communication, assessment of needs and recommendations of solutions.
• Performs onsite equipment demonstrations.
• Makes application recommendations of welding and positioning equipment.
• Develops long-term supply relationships through contracts and/or agreements.
• Works as part of a team in providing customer solutions.
• Meets or exceeds rental and sales goals specified in the market area.
• Represents the company at trade association meetings and Trade Shows to promote products.
• Compiles lists of prospective customers for sales leads based on information from newspapers, business directories, trade journals and/or other sources.
• Maintains accurate and timely submission of sales call reports and expenses.
• Provides customer follow-up.
• Provides back-up coverage at the branch location during vacations and other employee shortages.
• Performs Other Related Duties As Required.

Required Qualifications:

• Post secondary education equivalent to a Diploma in Business Management or equivalent.
• Leadership: Must be able to guide and mentor associates. Must be able to delegate and follow-up effectively.
• Relationship Building: Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Decision Making: Must be able to work independently while making decisions based on company policies and objectives.
• Problem Solving: Must be able to proactively and methodically deal with conflicting goals and challenging situations.
• Must have a valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

• Sales experience in either an industrial equipment rental or a welding equipment sales or rental environment (ideally construction, fabrication, and/or manufacturing sectors) an asset.
• Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding applications and equipment as an asset.
