How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for managing the sales process and driving profitable sales growth within an assigned territory, serving both existing and new Airgas customers. The AM must meet and exceed corporate and regional objectives for profitable sales growth, A/R management, and customer retention.

  1. Develops and executes sales plans using Airgas's directives to service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts. Qualifies and pursues sales leads.
  2. Cultivates customer relationships by understanding their business and establishing a consultative relationship.
  3. Links the customer's business priorities to the Airgas value proposition to engage customers.
  4. Prepares sales proposals, quotes pricing, establishes credit terms, and estimates delivery dates based on Airgas's schedules.
  5. Keeps current with industry insights, product mixes, and monitors competitors by gathering marketplace information.
  6. Partners with internal resources to achieve growth objectives and maintains clear communication regarding customer successes and opportunities.
  7. Maintains and submits sales reports (daily call reports, weekly plans, territory analyses) via SAP.
  8. Manages existing customer Accounts Receivable to minimize Airgas's working capital and financial risk.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Are you a MATCH?

  1. Bachelor's degree in science, business, or a related field required; or up to 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  2. At least 3 years of outside B2B sales experience with proven success in solution-selling and customer management within a sales territory.
  3. Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases or welding supply sales is a plus.
  4. Knowledge of customer segmentation and targeting for high-value customers.
  5. Proven consultative sales success, leveraging deep knowledge of customer business, industry trends, and market opportunities.
  6. Working knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
  7. Excellent organizational, communication, listening, and presentation skills.
  8. Strong PC skills (Windows, Word, Excel, email) and ability to adapt to order entry systems and handheld devices.
  9. Self-motivated, operates with urgency, and can succeed independently.
  10. Strong analytical and planning skills.
  11. Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  12. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and appropriate insurance.
