Job summary

Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse I for Labrador Grenfell Zone, based at Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau. This temporary call-in position offers eight-hour day shifts in a hospital/outpatient setting with responsibilities in assessment, care planning, and medication administration.

• Knowledge of computer skills and ability to work with computer programs is an asset.
• Completion of Health Assessment Course.
• Current CPR certification.
• GPA Course completed or willingness to complete.
• MOAB training completed or willingness to complete.

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing assessment within LPN scope of practice.
• Contributes to development and evaluation of nursing care plans.
• Provides safe, competent nursing care and makes decisions within LPN scope.
• Documents according to standards and maintains patient records.
• Keeps skills up to date and participates in quality improvement activities.
• Administers medication and works with multidisciplinary team.
