Job summary

The City of Brampton is seeking part-time Skate Head Coach/ Recreation staff to plan, organize and deliver high-quality skating programs at Gore Meadows. You will ensure safety, supervise participants and mentor volunteers, with shifts that include evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Minimum age 15, current First Aid/CPR or equivalent is required, and a valid Police Check is necessary. Training and safety protocols will be provided by the department.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Current Standard First Aid / CPR OR Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C and AED or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire.
• Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.).
• HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification, or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and deliver high quality, safe skating lessons for all levels.
• Maintain a safe, tidy program space; set up and store equipment properly.
• Supervise participants; respond to emergencies and ensure safety on and off the ice.
• Provide excellent front-line customer service and engage participants.
