Job summary

Sysco Canada Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to support the Vancouver warehouse operations. The role focuses on coaching teammates, ensuring safety and policy compliance, and driving productivity across the team.

You will manage selection, replenishment, and loading tasks, analyze productivity data, and support annual budgeting. Prior experience in logistics and supervisory duties is preferred, with a diploma in logistics/operations beneficial.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum 2 years in logistics/warehouse
• Prefers 5+ years in logistics/warehouse roles
• Preference for warehouse supervisory experience
• High School Diploma required; degree in logistics/operations preferred

Responsibilities

• Support warehouse team with technology systems (RF scanners, printers, tablets)
• Provide ongoing coaching and training to colleagues to meet productivity goals
• Ensure safety compliance with company programs and industry regulations
• Complete daily proactive safety measures and facility audits
• Distribute, analyze and act on incentive program data
• Monitor and improve overall productivity
• Assist with budget preparation and weekly budget monitoring
• Develop and implement cost reduction action plans
• Record timecards, approvals and scheduling for direct reports
• Understand and interpret collective bargaining agreements when applicable
• Comply with food safety policies and ensure product safety and legality
• Drive EHS performance and foster an inclusive culture
• Perform other duties as assigned

Role Responsibilities:

• Support warehouse team members with technology systems (Motorola RF scanners, Zebra printers, tablets and CANVAS)
• Provide ongoing coaching, training and encouragement to all colleagues and support in meeting productivity goals (Engineered Labour Standards)
• Ensure safety compliance in accordance with all company safety programs and industry regulations/legislation.
• Complete daily proactive safety measures warehouse inspections, coach cards, observations and facility audits
• Distribute, analyze and work with team members on incentive program
• Monitor and improve overall productivity
• Support and comply with all company policies and procedures
• Manage all aspects of selection, replenishment, assembly of products and loading in a timely manner
• Generate/analyze productivity reports
• Manage/Identify barriers that cause indirect time
• Record indirect (work delays) in SWMS (warehouse management system)
• Assist Warehouse Manager in preparation of annual warehouse budget and monitor budget on a weekly basis
• Develop and implement cost reduction action plans
• Accountable for the accuracy of timecards, approvals and scheduling of direct reports
• If applicable, understand and interpret the CBA, participate in grievance, mediation, arbitration procedures at unionized facilities
• Complies with Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
• Understands that their role is critical in creating a safe organization with minimal environmental impact and the value that brings to the organization.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in Logistics/Warehouse role
• Preferred 5 Years' experience in Logistics/Warehouse role
• Preferred warehouse supervisory experience
• High School Diploma required
• Diploma or Degree in Logistics and or Operations preferred
• Knowledge of systems would be considered an asset: SWMS, Workday, Synetellic, CANVAS, Intelex, labour standard system
