Job summary

Sysco is seeking a warehouse supervisor in Canada to lead day-to-day operations, coach staff, and ensure safety and efficiency across receiving, storage, and loading processes.

You will drive productivity, implement cost-saving actions, and manage schedules and timekeeping while adhering to food safety and company policies. Strong systems knowledge and supervisory experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Logistics/Warehouse roles.
• 5+ years preferred in Logistics/Warehouse roles.
• Preferred supervisory experience in a warehouse setting.
• High School Diploma is required.
• Diploma or degree in Logistics/Operations preferred.
• Knowledge of systems such as SWMS, Workday, CANVAS, Intelex is advantageous.
• Basic proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support warehouse team with technology systems (RF scanners, printers, tablets).
• Coach and train colleagues to meet productivity goals.
• Conduct material handling training for staff.
• Ensure safety compliance with company programs and regulations.
• Complete daily proactive safety measures and facility audits.
• Prepare work schedules including vacations.
• Distribute and analyze incentive programs with the team.
• Monitor and improve overall productivity.
• Manage selection, replenishment, assembly, and loading of products.
• Generate productivity reports and identify barriers causing delays.
• Record indirect time in SWMS and support annual budget prep.
• Develop cost reduction action plans and monitor weekly budgets.
• Ensure timecards and scheduling accuracy for direct reports.
• Support with union-related processes when applicable.
• Comply with food safety policies and legal requirements.
• Promote an inclusive culture and safe environmental practices.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Responsibilities:

• Support warehouse team members with technology systems (Motorola RF scanners, Zebra printers, tablets and CANVAS)
• Provide ongoing coaching, training and encouragement to all colleagues and support in meeting productivity goals (Engineered Labour Standards)
• Conduct Material Handling Training for colleagues
• Ensure safety compliance in accordance with all company safety programs and industry regulations/legislation.
• Complete daily proactive safety measures warehouse inspections, coach cards, observations and facility audits
• Prepare work schedules including vacations schedules
• Distribute, analyze and work with team members on incentive program
• Monitor and improve overall productivity
• Support and comply with all company policies and procedures
• Manage all aspects of selection, replenishment, assembly of products and loading in a timely manner
• Generate/analyze productivity reports
• Manage/Identify barriers that cause indirect time
• Record indirect (work delays) in SWMS (warehouse management system)
• Assist Warehouse Manager in preparation of annual warehouse budget and monitor budget on a weekly basis
• Develop and implement cost reduction action plans
• Accountable for the accuracy of timecards, approvals and scheduling of direct reports
• If applicable, understand and interpret the CBA, participate in grievance, mediation, arbitration procedures at unionized facilities
• Complies with Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
• Understands that their role is critical in creating a safe organization with minimal environmental impact and the value that brings to the organization.
• Is willing to drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by acting as an example and holding their team accountable to comply with EHS programs, policies, and requirements.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in Logistics/Warehouse role
• Preferred 5 Years' experience in Logistics/Warehouse role
• Preferred warehouse supervisory experience
• High School Diploma required
• Diploma or Degree in Logistics and or Operations preferred
• Knowledge of systems would be considered an asset: SWMS, Workday, Synetellic, CANVAS, Intelex, labour standard system
• Basic proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel
