Job summary

Sysco Canada is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily operations in our Edmonton distribution center. You will coach a team, monitor productivity, schedule shifts, and ensure safety and compliance with company policies.

The role requires 2+ years of logistics or warehouse experience, a high school diploma, and familiarity with systems such as Workday and CANVAS. You will drive cost efficiency, support budget targets, and maintain accurate timekeeping and reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Logistics/Warehouse role.
• Diploma or Degree in Logistics or Operations preferred.
• Knowledge of systems (SWMS, Workday, Synetellic, CANVAS, Intelex, labour standard system) considered an asset.
• Basic proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Material Handling Training for colleagues.
• Ensure safety compliance with company programs and regulations.
• Prepare work schedules including vacation schedules.

• Monitor and improve overall productivity.
• Manage selection, replenishment, assembly of products and loading.
• Generate and analyze productivity reports.
• Assist in annual warehouse budget preparation and weekly monitoring.
• Develop and implement cost reduction action plans.

Job description

Role Responsibilities:

• Support warehouse team members with technology systems (Motorola RF scanners, Zebra printers, tablets and CANVAS)
• Provide ongoing coaching, training and encouragement to all colleagues and support in meeting productivity goals (Engineered Labour Standards)
• Conduct Material Handling Training for colleagues
• Ensure safety compliance in accordance with all company safety programs and industry regulations/legislation
• Complete daily proactive safety measures: warehouse inspections, coach cards, observations and facility audits
• Prepare work schedules including vacation schedules
• Distribute, analyze and work with team members on incentive program
• Monitor and improve overall productivity
• Support and comply with all company policies and procedures
• Manage all aspects of selection, replenishment, assembly of products and loading in a timely manner
• Generate/analyze productivity reports
• Manage/identify barriers that cause indirect time
• Record indirect (work delays) in SWMS (warehouse management system)
• Assist Warehouse Manager in preparation of annual warehouse budget and monitor budget on a weekly basis
• Develop and implement cost reduction action plans
• Accountable for the accuracy of timecards, approvals and scheduling of direct reports
• Understand and interpret the CBA, participate in grievance, mediation, arbitration procedures at unionized facilities (if applicable)
• Comply with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met
• Understand that role is critical in creating a safe organization with minimal environmental impact and value that brings to the organization
• Drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by acting as an example and holding team accountable to comply with EHS programs, policies, and requirements

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Logistics/Warehouse role
• Preferred 5 Years’ experience in Logistics/Warehouse role
• Preferred warehouse supervisory experience
• High School Diploma required
• Diploma or Degree in Logistics and or Operations preferred
• Knowledge of systems (SWMS, Workday, Synetellic, CANVAS, Intelex, labour standard system) considered an asset
• Basic proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel
