Job summary

Sysco FreshPoint in Canada is seeking a dependable order picker to support nightly operations. You will palletize finished products, organize coolers, and ensure timely completion of orders while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

The role requires 2+ years of experience, a high school diploma or GED, and forklift certification is preferred. You will work with electric pallet jacks and voice-directed picking systems in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION This position is responsible for order picking and it can be physically demanding with continual walking, standing, stretching, bending, and lifting. It also requires remembering details of products and customers’ requirements.

Shift Schedule :- 06:00 p.m. - 02:30 a.m.

Pay Range :- $ 20.00 /hr

Responsibilities

• Order Selection: Palletize and effectively organize finished products.
• Organize finish product cooler and put away at the end of production.
• Vigilantly monitor product quality.
• Coordinate with other workstations to ensure order competition.
• Put away finish product and raw material at the end of the shift.
• Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
• Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
• Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills

• Order Selection: Proven ability to accurately and efficiently select orders with minimal errors.
• Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice-directed picking systems.
• Physical Strength: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) frequently.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy when selecting and staging orders.
• Safety Awareness: Strong awareness of safety procedures and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assist in training new team members.

Certifications

• Forklift certification preferred.
