Job summary

Otto's Cache is Jasper's first locally owned café, bakery and curated provisions market, opened in Spring 2025 in Jasper National Park. We bake breads, pastries, and offer dine-in and take-away options, using locally sourced Canadian suppliers.

Join a team focused on quality, craftsmanship, and community in a beautiful mountain setting. We are seeking a baker with 1–3 years of experience to prepare and bake products, maintain high standards, and support inventory and safety.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a baker or in a commercial kitchen (1–3 years preferred).
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, doughs, batters, and pastry preparation.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent product quality.
  • Experience operating commercial baking equipment (mixers, ovens, proofers).
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to recipes.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistent quality.
  • Operate and maintain baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofers.
  • Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and icings.
  • Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure optimal results.
  • Decorate and finish baked goods as required.
  • Ensure products meet quality, freshness, and presentation standards.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Label, store, and rotate products properly (FIFO).
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and receiving supplies.
  • Work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Serving an expertise and craftsmanship of a new era of Jasper hospitality offerings. In Spring 2025, Otto's Cache opened its doors to Jasper National Park. The cafe/bakery focus will be on both dine-in and take-away offerings. Serving specialty coffee, fresh baked goods, sandwiches, salads. The market’s main focus will be providing our community with locally sourced, exciting artisanal provisions, making great food accessible to our community year round. All made possible by local Canadian suppliers.

Requirements

  • Food Handler or Safe Food Certification (often required in Canada)
