Job summary

Jasper Brewing Company in Jasper, Alberta is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare menu items according to established recipes and quality standards. The role is permanent, full-time with pay ranging from $18 to $21 per hour and requires you to work evenings and weekends as needed.

You will handle ingredients, operate grills, fryers, ovens and other kitchen equipment, coordinate with staff for timely service, and maintain cleanliness and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar restaurant role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation methods and kitchen equipment operation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with attention to quality.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
• Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients used in food preparation, including meats, seafood, vegetables, and sauces.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, fryers, ovens, and other cooking appliances.
• Monitor food cooking temperatures and times, adjusting as needed to achieve desired results and maintain consistency.
• Coordinate food preparation with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and smooth operations during busy periods.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations and standards, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of food items.
