Job summary

Thompson Construction Group is seeking an OTR Tire Technician to support Fort McMurray operations. You will service, replace, and repair OTR tires on mining and construction equipment, and operate heavy tooling in a safety-focused environment.

The role requires 3+ years of OTR tire experience, CSO/H2S/First Aid certifications, and willingness to live in remote camps on a rotational schedule. Valid Class 3 license preferred; pass a pre-access drug test is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an OTR Tire Technician.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Class 3 driver's license preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to live in remote camps on rotational schedule near Fort McMurray.
• CSO Certification required.
• H2S Alive and First Aid certifications are assets.
• TIA Training is recommended but not required.
• Good physical condition and overall health to safely perform assigned duties.
• Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test.

• Demonstrate knowledge of tire construction and wear/repair limits.
• Replace, repair, and balance light vehicle tires as required.
• Follow proper procedures for eliminating stored energy before removing tires from rims, particularly split-rim configurations (3-piece and 5-piece).
• Use correct tooling and equipment to support both heavy and light vehicles during tire removal.
• Adhere to all safe work practices in alignment with industry standards and company policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize risks.

• Safely operate hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including jacks, pumps, rad guns, and high-torque tools
• Demonstrate knowledge of tire construction and acceptable wear/repair limits
• Replace, repair, and balance light vehicle tires as required
• Follow proper procedures for eliminating stored energy before removing tires from rims, particularly split-rim configurations (3-piece and 5-piece)
• Use correct tooling and equipment to support both heavy and light vehicles during tire removal
• Adhere to all safe work practices in alignment with industry standards and company policies
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize risks
