Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a Senior Advisor OTC Regulatory Project within the Capital Operations team. You will act as a specialist in regulatory reporting for OTC derivatives, shaping solutions and ensuring compliance while translating complex business needs into effective operational and technology outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field; a master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Three to five years of experience in financial markets, capital markets operations, regulatory reporting, or a similar role within a financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of OTC derivatives, including swaps, options, and forwards.
  • Knowledge of derivatives reporting regulations and regulatory frameworks such as AMF, CFTC, or SEC.
  • Experience using tools such as JIRA, Murex, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience analyzing business requirements and supporting technology-enabled process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of sustainable regulatory solutions.
  • Document business requirements, rules, and product mappings with internal and external teams.

  • Monitor regulatory developments through forums and groups like DTCC and ISDA.

Job description

A career as aSenior Advisor OTC Regulatory Project in the Capital Operations (CMO) teamat National Bank means acting as a specialist in regulatory reporting for over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives. In this role, you will contribute to the quality, accuracy, and evolution of regulatory reporting solutions while helping the organization meet regulatory obligations. You will have a positive impact through your expertise in OTC products, your understanding of regulatory requirements, and your ability to translate complex business needs into effective operational and technology solutions

Your Role
  • Collaborate with Operations, Technology, Compliance, and other stakeholders to analyze regulatory requirements and evaluate their impact on existing processes and systems.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of sustainable solutions that address regulatory, operational, and reporting challenges.
  • Document business requirements, rules, and product mappings while partnering with internal and external development teams to support solution delivery.
  • Execute functional, regression, and quality testing activities, identify anomalies, and ensure issues are properly tracked and resolved.
  • Advise operational teams by sharing expertise on OTC products, regulatory reporting obligations, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and monitor regulatory and industry developments through forums and working groups such as DTCC and ISDA.

Requirements
