Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a Risk Governance Advisor within the Technology, Cybersecurity and Data risk Management team to strengthen technology and data risk governance across the organisation.

You will oversee policy development, regulatory alignment, and risk indicators, collaborating with stakeholders to improve governance, controls and incident follow-up in a hybrid work environment with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience; OR master’s degree and 6 years of experience in technology, cybersecurity or data risk management
  • Solid experience in risk governance in complex and regulated environments
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., OSFI, AMF)
  • Proficiency in the guidelines governing technological and operational risks (E.G. B-13, B-10, E-21, A-1)
  • Knowledge of recognised cybersecurity and governance repositories (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, COBIT)
  • Knowledge in Audit, Compliance or Financial sector experience
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CRISC, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CISSP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and updating of technology, cyber and data risk management policies, standards and processes
  • Define and deploy training and awareness initiatives for stakeholders
  • Monitor risks and ensure alignment of internal controls with regulatory requirements
  • Produce indicators, dashboards and analyses to support decision-making
  • Analyze major incidents, identify causes and follow up on action plans
  • Support and influence stakeholders in terms of risk governance and compliance
